Executive Director

 

Jones County Emergency Management Council, An Equal Opportunity Employer, is accepting applications for Executive Director of the Jones County Emergency Management Agency and Emergency Operations Center.

The Executive Director must have a background in emergency management with extensive knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), the ability to work with the public and elected officials, excellent writing skills and public speaking skills, the ability to manage a budget, the ability to effectively manage and direct a staff of approximately 25 people and the ability to work with other public safety agencies in a cohesive manner with the added responsibility of taking charge in difficult situations. Applicant must undergo psychological evaluation and pass a background check.

A minimum of a high school education or GED is required as well as five years’ experience in emergency management or related field. A state certified emergency manager is preferred.

Candidates will be evaluated according to experience, education and interpersonal skills. Salary plus benefits.
